چکیده
Counterexamples are given to show that some results concerning a weighted L projection presented earlier by Bramble and the author are sharp, i.e., that certain error and stability estimates are impossible in some cases.

Sharp Embeddings for Modulation Spaces and the Poisson Summation Formula
In this paper we sharpen a theorem of Gröchenig about embedding weighted Lp-spaces into a modulation space. The theorem is closely related to the problem of pointwise convergence in the Poisson summation formula (PSF). We also show that this sharp version is optimal in some sense by extending a family of counterexamples to PSF also due to Gröchenig. The proof requires new techniques, namely the...
متن کاملVarious Recursive Mixed L2-Linfty Algorithms for Linear-in-the-Parameters Models
In this paper, various Recursive Mixed L2-Linfty (RML) learning algorithms are developed by choosing different forgetting factor matrix function () for Linear-inthe-Parameters (LIP) models, including Projection, Recursive Mixed L2-Linfty, Recursive Mixed Mean L2-Linfty, weighted Mixed L2-Linfty, instantaneous RML, and Batch RML algorithms. A few models are given to apply the proposed RML alg...
متن کاملStability and L2 Gain Analysis for Discrete-Time LTI Systems with Controller Failures
In this paper, we analyze stability and L2 gain properties for discrete-time linear time-invariant (LTI) systems controlled by a pre-designed dynamical output feedback controller which fails from time to time due to physical or purposeful reason. Our aim is to find conditions concerning controller failure time, under which the system’s stability and L2 gain properties are preserved to a desired...
متن کاملSome Estimates for a Weighted L2 Projection
This paper is devoted to the error estimates for some weighted L projections. Nearly optimal estimates are obtained. These estimates can be applied to the analysis of the usual multigrid method, multilevel preconditioner and domain decomposition method for solving elliptic boundary problems whose coefficients have large jump discontinuities.
متن کاملThe direct L geometric structure on a manifold of probability densities with applications to Filtering
In this paper we introduce a projection method for the space of probability distributions based on the differential geometric approach to statistics. This method is based on a direct L2 metric as opposed to the usual Hellinger distance and the related Fisher Information metric. We explain how this apparatus can be used for the nonlinear filtering problem, in relationship also to earlier project...
